Why chocolate?
Back in 2008 a few like minded businesses and partners got together to look at ways to put Ramsbottom on the map.
We already had the quirky name, the great location and excellent independent businesses, but it was the town’s growing number of quality chocolate retailers that led to the quirky idea to hold a chocolate festival.
With The Chocolate Café and Bury Council as partners, and support from Ramsbottom Business Group, the idea grew and grew!
The first festival in 2009 focused on a chocolate market with just 12 chocolate stalls. From these small beginnings it has grown into a two day event, still very much focused on high end quality chocolate, but with a great family appeal.
Ramsbottom remains the home of the original and the best UK chocolate festival.
The event offers a truly unique chocolate experience for all the family.
